The Institute of Medicine (IOM), Medicare, and the new healthcare overhaul law strongly recommended every health provider use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR). After an extensive search of EMR providers SilverArc APN has chosen to use an integration of Phreesia and Practice Fusion, web based EMR's that maximizes security, flexibility, and simplicity, while minimizing cost.
To make the process of registration more friendly and private you will be handed a Phreesia tablet computer (don't get nervous we will help as needed) where you can enter all your information including your insurance information. The system will verify your insurance and if necessary ask you to how you'd like to make your co-pay. If your insurance is not accepted it will ask how you will pay for todays visit. It even lets you swipe your credit, debit, or flexible benefit card right on the Phreesia Pad
Phreesia will ask for your complete health history the first time you visit, even if you have provided this once on paper you get to do it all over again, this may take 15 minutes. When you come in for other visits you will be asked to spend 5 minutes to update your health information.
Paul is the first to admit on a busy day his writing is terrible. When the pharmacist has to call for clarification it interrupts the current patients care, derails Paul's train of thought, and wastes your time. Because your prescription will be sent electronically to the pharmacy you will not have to wait to verify unreadable prescriptions. Your prescription goes to the pharmacy before you even leave the office.
Remind us to enroll you in Patient Fusion so you can log in using your special password to view your records any time you have the need.

Eventually you will be able to send secure email for care planning needs, and if I get my way be able to schedule your own appointments! Phreesia is a step in the right direction. Can on-line registration portals be far behind.
